Ice-cream kiosk at Broadchurch location expected to make big lolly at auction
An ice-cream kiosk in a tourist hotspot made famous by hit TV drama Broadchurch is to go under the hammer.
The Shack at West Bay, near Bridport, Dorset, is expected to fetch between £55,000 and £65,000 when it is sold at auction next month.
Located in Station Road, the freehold of the kiosk-come-garage is in a prominent position in the port on the popular Jurassic Coast.
Stars are currently filming the third and final series of Broadchurch nearby on the picturesque beach, cliffs and busy harbourside.
Scott Gray, from auctioneers Clive Emson, said: "This is a rare opportunity to acquire this single-storey kiosk on the Jurassic Coast.
"West Bay becomes incredibly busy during the summer and has become even more of a tourist hotspot thanks to the Broadchurch factor.
"We expect keen interest from those keen to continue commercial use as an ice-cream parlour although others may have alternative uses in mind subject to the necessary consents."
Actors filming Broadchurch at West Bay include David Tennant, Olivia Colman, Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan, Sarah Parish and Charlie Higson.
The West Bay and Bridport area is also home to such celebrities as Martin Clunes and award-winning rock star PJ Harvey.
The auction takes place on June 17 in Cornwall.
