Officers said thieves broke into the house in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, after spotting a message on Facebook.

Police said the case should serve as a warning to internet users about the kind of information they posted on the web.

A police spokesman said the thieves knew the occupants of the house.

He said two men had admitted burglary and were due to be sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court later this year.
