Holland recalls Nazi number plates

The Dutch car registration authority has said a computer glitch led to about 100 vehicles being assigned number plates that included the letters NSB - the acronym for a defunct political party reviled for its World War Two collaboration with the Nazis.
Spokesman Hans van Geenhuizen of the State Traffic Service said the blunder was quickly spotted and no cars were actually fitted with the NSB plates.
Mr Van Geenhuizen said one person complained about being issued registration documents over the weekend including the letters NSB. But he added that no licence plates featuring the letters were printed or fitted to new cars.
A new rule came into force last year banning political acronyms from Dutch number plates.
