Holiday Brits 'top for haggling'

Britons are keen to haggle while on holiday but are less inclined than other Europeans to brag about bagging a bargain, it has been revealed.

UK holidaymakers are also anxious to negotiate the best deal before travelling, with almost 80% prepared to haggle with their travel supplier, a survey by travel and entertainment company Travelzoo found.

But only 41% of Britons were prepared to discuss bargains they had found, compared with nearly 80% of Germans, according to the poll of 2,000 Europeans.

Travelzoo UK managing director Joel Brandon-Bravo said: "Our survey reveals that the desire to find a great travel deal is at an all-time high across Europe, and that people are prepared to go to some length to find the best deal."
