Firefighters have rescued a teenage girl who got stuck in a basketball hoop.

The 14-year-old was trying to squeeze through the hoop as a challenge but got into trouble halfway through after her clothes bunched up and stopped her moving.

One of her friends called firefighters, who arrived on the scene at Wallyford Community Centre in Wallyford, East Lothian, at around 7.45pm on Wednesday.

They used a ladder to climb up and smooth out the teenager's clothes so she could wriggle free.

Lothian and Borders Fire Service said the girl suffered no injuries apart from to "her pride".
