Beady Eye singer and Manchester City fan Liam Gallagher celebrated his team's triumph over arch-rivals Manchester United by bursting into the club's media room and declaring his love for manager Roberto Mancini.
The pop superstar, who watched City leapfrog United to go top of the Premier League following their 1-0 derby win, made the surprise appearance after Sky Blue's boss Mancini had given his post-match press conference on Monday night.
Gallagher, an avid City follower, announced: "I love Mancini, he is nearly as cool as me."
The former Oasis frontman also delivered a cheeky jibe to United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Hinting why the Red Devils lost the derby that was billed as the most important game of the season, he said: "Ferguson must have been on the whisky."
Gallagher also posted a picture of himself with football legend Diego Maradona on Twitter following City's triumph. The Argentinian had been at the Etihad Stadium to cheer on son-in-law Sergio Aguero, who helped lead City to victory.
Gallagher, who is pictured shaking Maradona's hand, added the caption: "Maradona shakes the hand of God!" in reference to the goal the Argentinian scored against England in the 1986 World Cup.
The pop star has been a regular supporter at City's home games over the course of the season, often pictured in a Sky Blue shirt alongside his sons.
