A farmer has grown some fiendish Frankenstein pumpkins using moulds specially imported from America.

Guy French and his wife Emily were introduced to the moulds by farmer friends in the US, where they are popular, and decided to buy some themselves to grow them in Essex.

The pumpkins will be used for display purposes at Foxes Farm Produce sites in Colchester and Basildon, and are not intended for sale.

"We're determined to make Halloween as much fun as we can," said Mrs French.
