Nick Clegg has laughed off suggestions that the Liberal Democrat General Election campaign is "jinxed", after a series of technical failures marred major events.
Microphones failed at both the party's manifesto launch on Wednesday and an event to publicise their economic plans on Sunday, while the Lib Dem battlebus has broken down twice during the first two-and-a-half weeks of campaigning.
The Lib Dem leader joked that he had launched an inquiry to find out whether rival parties were targeting his team.
Asked whether the Lib Dem campaign was "jinxed", Mr Clegg told LBC radio: "Sabotage! It is sabotage! We are conducting a full anti-sabotage inquiry.
"We think our opponents are fiddling with our microphone system. The truth will be out!"
The media party accompanying Mr Clegg on his battlebus tour used a replacement coach on a visit in the north west of England on Thursday, after being stranded by a breakdown in north London on Wednesday.
