A watch collector in the US who spotted a rare Swiss timepiece in a secondhand store, bought it for just a few dollars and then sold it 35,000 US dollars (£22,000)

Zach Norris said he found the watch at a Goodwill store that he'd visited in Phoenix, Arizona, while hoping to buy a golf cart.

Mr Norris told KTVK-TV he was excited when he recognised the 1959 Jaeger-LeCoultre diving watch. It was authenticated by a watchmaker before Mr Norris sold it to a fellow enthusiast. He says the proceeds will help to pay for his wedding.
