A bus driver who had eyes for a passenger for almost six years is finally tying the knot with his dream traveller.
Transdev driver Jarrod Spedding, 43, said he used to get butterflies on his Witch Way X43 bound for Manchester when he saw Charlene Liversidge, 33, at the bus stop.
The couple from Burnley said that after spending years exchanging friendly glances aboard the love bus they finally went on a date.
Three years on they are planning their dream wedding abroad.
Mr Spedding, 43, who has worked for the bus company for 11 years, said: "I used to get butterflies when I saw Charlene at the bus stop.
"I used to write my phone number on her bus pass. Eventually, five or six years on, we met up on a night out and hit it off. The rest is history."
Carer Ms Liversidge said: "I didn't know his name, but whenever I saw him I would tell the girls at work. Now we're engaged and planning our wedding, it's just surreal."
To mark the way they met the couple had a cake at their engagement party shaped like a bus.
Ms Liversidge said: "It was my idea to have something that represented how we met, it's part of our story. It was a real talking point."
Richard Jackson, development director at Transdev which runs services in and around Burnley, Pendle, Blackburn, Darwen and Hyndburn, said: "Everybody at Transdev is very happy for Jarrod and Charlene and we wish them a wonderful future together."
