As much as Southampton tried to pull it back against Tottenham, nothing could top Christian Eriksen's goal

Eriksen and Dele Alli proved there is life after Harry Kane for Tottenham in their victory at White Hart Lane.

After Southampton’s goalless first half at White Hart Lane, they seemed pretty determined to make a comeback.

While James Ward-Prowse did manage to find the back of the net, it just wasn’t the Saints’ day, with the match ending 2-1 to Tottenham.

There was one Tottenham player who most definitely did have a good day on the pitch, though.

In the 14th minute, Christian Eriksen delivered a rare moment of precision, drifting onto Mousa Dembele’s pass before bending a left-footed shot hard, low and into the bottom right-hand corner.

Turns out scoring against Southampton has been a bit of a thing for Eriksen lately.

It would seem Eriksen’s got himself some admirers on Twitter thanks to his recent form.

With Dele Alli now scoring four goals in four games and Eriksen three in five, the game proved there is life after Harry Kane for Tottenham.
