420 Christmas trees taken in raid

Police are appealing for information after 420 Christmas trees were stolen from a farm

A batch of 420 Christmas trees worth more than £10,000 has been stolen from a farm.

The trees were to be delivered to IKEA before they were taken from Shielsknowe Forestry at Brundenlaws Farm near Jedburgh, in the Borders.

They had been wrapped and were stacked on pallets to be sent to the furniture retail giant, which is selling the trees for £25 each.

The theft was discovered on Monday morning and Lothian and Borders Police are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious or a vehicle in the area on Sunday night.
