World's costliest Barbie auctioned off for cancer
The world's most expensive Barbie is due to come up for sale at Christie's New York later in the month
The custom-designed doll will go on sale on October 20 and Christie's estimate its worth at $300,000 (€215,000) to $500,000 (€358,000).
The doll, which is expected to be a popular lot, comes wearing a necklace featuring a one carat pink diamond.
The auction is being held to create for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and all proceeds will go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Jeweller Stefano Canturi bordered the emerald-cut, vivid diamond with smaller, three carat, white diamonds. Aside from the geometrically arranged necklace, Mr Canturi also designed the doll's black strapless dress, stilettos, hair and other features.
The world auction record for a Barbie is $17,091 (€12,237), which was set in 2006, at Christie's auction house London.
