'Well-groomed' gunman gets manicure before robbing nail salon
The hunt is on for an armed robber caught on camera getting manicure moments before pulling out a gun and demanding cash.
Philadelphia Police said the man waited until his nails were done before threatening staff and allegedly robbing the salon
CCTV footage captures the man leaning over the counter and rummaging through drawers while members of staff cower on the floor.
It is understood he fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No one was injured in the incident, according to 6 ABC News.
“He came in just as business was closing Sunday. Like others that day, he asked for a manicure and he sat through a manicure, but when asked to pay, he point the gun at her and asked her to give him money,” said a manicurist, through a translator.
Police described the armed robber as a black male, aged between 30 and 40-years-old with a stocky build.
“It’s pretty nervy to sit into a nail salon and actually get a manicure and then produce a gun and announce a robbery you know. And he was very serious about what he was doing,” said Philadelphia Police Captain Malachi Jones.
