VIDEO has emerged of a Golden Eagle attempting to snatch a toddler from a Canadian park.
The incident was caught on camera by a nature enthusiast who was in the Montreal park filming the massive bird of prey.
The eagle is seen to suddenly swoop down towards the ground, before grabbing the small child in its claws.
The bird then begins to fly away with the terrified toddler being lifted rapidly from the ground.
After the toddler’s stunned parent begins to chase the bird shouting, it drops the crying child.
The camera footage then trails off as the camera man runs over to offer his help to the man.
The identity of the child is not known but it is believed that no medical attention was required.
Golden eagles are one of North America’s largest birds of prey, with a wingspan which can grow to over six feet.
