MANUELA Hernandez has just finished primary school – aged more than 100.
It has taken her so long because she had to leave school in Mexico after just one year to help her family. That was in 1913 when she was just a young girl.
Asked by a reporter about that time and she said, "Her mother couldn't afford to keep her in school and by that point she could already wash and iron”.
Fast forward to 2012 and she resumed her studies as a much, much older lady.
Manuela has graduated but plans to continue her studies in secondary school.
