Video: Did Barack Obama really make a bawdy joke about his wife Michelle?
The internet is awash with speculation as to whether the President made a sexual innuendo about his wife Michelle at a fund-raiser.
The President started his speech by thanking comedian Ellen DeGeneres, who hosted the fund-raiser for the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender Leadership Council and joked about the First Lady's appearance on her talk show, where Ms Obama accepted a push-up challenge in front of a studio audience.
"I want to thank my wonderful friend who accepts a little bit of teasing about Michelle beating her in push-ups," he said.
He then said straight-faced: "But I think she claims Michelle didn’t go all the way down."
The remark promoted the crowd to erupt into laughter at the event on Wednesday night.
"That's what I heard," he added. "I just want to set the record straight – Michelle outdoes me in push-ups as well."
