WHEN a North Carolina father discovered his teenager daughter had complained about him on Facebook, he shot her laptop and posted the video online.

The dad, revealed to be Tommy Jordan an IT executive living in North Carolina, took issue with his 15-year-old daughter Hannah’s online moan about being forced to do household chores by her parents. So he decided to teach her a lesson and uploaded onto You Tube an eight minute video where he rants directly at his daughter. He explains why in the YouTube video:

“My daughter thought it would be funny/rebellious/cool to post on her Facebook wall just how upset she was and how unfair her life here is; how we work her too hard with chores, never pay her for chores, and just in general make her life difficult.

“She chose to share this with the entire world on Facebook and block her parent’s from seeing it. Well, umm? she failed. As of the end of this video, she won’t have to worry anymore about posting inappropriate things on Facebook?

“If you’re so disrespectful to your parents and yourself as to post this kind of thing on Facebook, you’re deserving of some tough love. Today, my daughter is getting a dose of tough love.”

In the video, Jordan sits in a garden chair wearing a cowboy hat, smoking a cigarette and holding a print-out of his daughter’s Facebook post. He gets irate when he tells his daughter he just spent $130 fixing her computer and that she has disrespected him and her mother. He also tells her she is dumb for thinking her parents wouldn’t see the post, as he works in the IT field.

After the seven minute rant, he pulls out a gun and fires into his daughter’s laptop on the ground. He says the final bullet is from her mother.

His video and rant have been championed on parenting websites and forums over the States. One posted: “Bravo, a real Father doing what a real honest caring FATHER should do.” Another wrote: “ How refreshing it is for someone handle this issue without today’s all too familiar politically correct buffoonery. Somebody shake this man’s hand for me.”

His Facebook posting entitled “Parents and Kids... watch” has been viewed almost two million times.
