Tragedy as police officer responds to drowning – and discovers victim is his 15-year-old son
A POLICE officer who was called to a drowning incident arrived at the scene – to discover the victim was his teenage son.
Armani English was pulled from a lake in Miami Florida over the weekend.
His visibly devastated father was comforted at the scene by other officers – having responded to what he thought was routine call.
The teen was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital South, however medics were unable to save his life and he was later pronounced dead.
The promising basketball player had gone to the park with a group of friends when the accident happened.
"I saw him come up about twice and then he went down. He came up and took a breath, then went back down," a witness told NBC.
Students at Coral Gables High School have been offered grief counselling.
