A photograph of an eerie ghost town is freaking out internet users and if you take a closer look you’ll see why.
Reddit user srslytho was exploring the California ghost town of Amboy when they came across this abandoned motel.
“I shot an old fenced off motel in the ghost town of Amboy CA. I noticed later that one room looks to have blood spatter on the walls,” they explained.
One user replied: "I'm not too far from this place. Creepy for sure.
Another added: "I live not far from here and all the stories about this place are creepy as hell."
Some users commented that some of the abandoned buildings had been used by artists, while others pointed out the location had been used for several films.
American thriller Beneath the Dark was filmed in the town, as well as 1986 horror film The Hitcher.
Amboy is located in the heart of the Mojave desert along the historic Route 66, with only a smattering of scattered buildings remaining in the town.
It was once a popular place to stop along the route, however struggled following the opening of Interstate 40 in 1973 and is now largely abandoned.
Earlier this year, a photographer got a fright when he captured a shadowy figure lurking behind a pillar underneath a bridge in this very creepy shot.
Los Angeles-based snapper Seth Peebler was taking photos of the city’s 4th Street Bridge with a friend, totally unaware they were being watched.
