A small plane crashed in a wooded area during a Wisconsin air show on Sunday afternoon, killing the pilot.
The plane was taking part in the show, which was immediately cancelled by police after the incident. Local TV station WAOW caught the plane crashing during the show.
"The 47-year-old pilot was pronounced dead at the scene," said Stevens Point Police Sergeant Tony Babl.
He added that the pilot's name was not being released, pending notification of his family and that the plane did not burn up after hitting the ground.
"Didn't see any smoke or fire from the scene and the officers when they arrived confirmed it did not burst into flames," he said.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are set to conduct an investigation.
