Teenager (18) suffering from terminal leukemia is granted wish as she marries boyfriend in intimate ceremony
A teenage girl with just 18 months to live was granted her wish when she married the love of her life in an intimate ceremony.
Leslie Rivera (18) was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia just seven months ago.
Since then Leslie has been cared for her loyal boyfriend Daniel Mendez
The pair had met last year at an anti-racism club in their Californian high school and had been inseparable since.
Last month after she was referred to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Rivera's request was that she marry Daniel
The Foundation sprang into action and hired celebrity wedding planner David Tutera to give Leslie her dream day.
A huge fan of Twilight, Rivera wanted to emulate the wedding in the movie and Tutera set out recreating it for her big day.
The celebrity wedding planner even surprised Leslie with a personal appearance at her dress fitting.
The wedding day itself took place last Thursday 21 November and Make-A-Wish showed recorded a short film of the highlights of the day.
The foundation also granted the wishes of five-year-old Miles Scott AKA Batkid.
Two weeks ago, the streets of San Francisco were transformed into Gotham as Miles got his wish to became a crimegihter for the day.
