US President Barack Obama used an autopen to sign the fiscal cliff deal into law.
Mr Obama, who is on holiday in Hawaii, came off the golf course to sign the multi-billion dollar bill using a mechanical device that copies his signature.
Obama is the only president in history to use an autopen to sign bills into law. He also used it to sign the Patriot Act while in France in May 2011.
