Obama in threat to Democrats who reject health bill

Barack Obama will not campaign for any Democratic congressmen who fails to support healthcare reform, he has said.
The US president will refuse to make fundraising visits during November elections to any district whose representative has not backed the healthcare bill.
A one-night presidential appearance can bring in hundreds of thousands of dollars in funds which would take campaign volunteers months to gather.
Mr Obama's threat came as the year-long debate over his signature domestic policy entered its final week.
This week he is telephoning congressmen who are still on the fence as he makes personal appearances to try to swing public opinion.
Congress has ignored several deadlines that have been set by the president, but March 21 is being treated by all sides as the final target, by which time all options will have been exhausted. (©Daily Telegraph, London)
