Michael Jackson’s doctor Conrad Murray gets maximum four year jail sentence
CONRAD Murray, Michael Jackson’s doctor who was earlier this month found guilty of the involuntary manslaughter of the pop star, has been given a maximum four years in prison.
However, his stay in jail is expected to be two years due to overcrowding in LA jails.
He was found guilty of administering a fatal overdose of the anaesthetic propofol to the rock star.
Prosecutors had hoped Murray would get the maximum sentence and they pointed to testimony from the singer’s mother who said her family had been “hurt and betrayed” by his actions.
Summing up, the judge said: “There are some who think Dr Murray is a saint.
“There are some who think he's a sinner.
“He's neither: he's a human being."
