McAfee denied political asylum in Guatemala
A lawyer for software company founder John McAfee says he has been denied political asylum in Guatemala, paving the way for his deportation to Belize.
Police in Belize, where Mr McAfee is sought for questioning in connection with the killing of a fellow US expatriate, expect him to be returned shortly.
Mr McAfee was in a Guatemalan immigration detention centre after his arrest for illegally entering the country ended a bizarre weeks-long journey as a self-styled fugitive.
Belizean police spokesman Raphael Martinez said officials expected Mr McAfee to be flown back to the capital.
