Hunt for serial killer, 'Diana scourge of bus drivers'

Hannah Strange Mexico City

A female vigilante calling herself "Diana, the hunter of bus drivers" is carrying out a campaign of revenge against men she claimed were sex attackers in the long-suffering Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez.

In a city notorious for the murders of women, a wig-wearing individual boarded buses twice last week and shot the drivers dead.

A few days later, media outlets in the city began to receive emails from an individual who said: "I myself and other women have suffered in silence but we can't stay quiet any more. I am the instrument of vengeance for several women."

Ciudad Juarez has become infamous for the disappearance and murder of hundreds of women in the past two decades.

Many have vanished from the buses that take workers to the city's border assembly plants.

While several drivers were arrested, the cases were mostly later dropped.

It is on these same routes that "Diana" claims she and many others have fallen prey to sexual attacks. (© Daily Telegraph, London).
