Heartless thief caught on camera robbing flowers from a mother's grave
This video of a woman stealing flowers from a recently deceased grandmother's grave has gone viral after a relative published it online.
Canadian Marg Allerston-Medeiros set up a camera on a tree branch pointing towards her mother's grave after flowers and monuments were repeatedly stolen.
The video was originally poster to Marg's Facebook page, where it has been viewed more than 7 million times and shared more than 200,000 times.
In an online post, the distressed daughter said her mother's grave in St Peter's Cemetery, London had been robbed more than 16 times, but they have finally got an image of the person doing it.
"After almost 3 months, we finally have video of the person that has been ripping out the flowers from our mother's grave," she wrote.
"Please help our family identify this person. If you have any information, please private message me and do NOT include personal details in the comments below. Feel free to share as we need all the help we can get."
Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the thief. They are describing her as a slim, five-foot-five woman in her 20s, with dyed blonde hair and dark roots.
Medeiros says her mother, Alma Allerston, who died earlier this year, would not be happy with the international attention she has since received.
“She’d be having an issue with this right now. Very private, very private woman,” Medeiros said.
