Gore's son caught speeding . . . in his eco-friendly car
THE Gores do love their hybrid cars. And now we have new evidence of their versatility.
Al Gore III (pictured right), the 24-year-old son of the former US Vice President, managed to crank up his eco-friendly Toyota Prius to a paint-stripping 160kmh on the San Diego Freeway yesterday.
Trouble was the police saw him do it. Even worse, when they pulled him over, they smelled marijuana in the car and, on further investigation, found a small quantity of the illegal substance inside the car alongside other medications.
"He does not have a prescription for any of those drugs," Jim Amormino,for Santa Ana County Sheriff's department confirmed, adding that Gore Jr was being held on $20,000 bail.
The incident was an unwelcome surprise to his eco-warrior father, who may have promoted the Prius more than its Japanese makers.
