A US daycare centre is being investigated for neglect after two young boys were hospitalised with severe sunburn after a trip to a water park.
Connor Harvey (7) and Tray Wells (5) were in the care of the Happiness is a Learning Centre in Oklahoma when they were taken to Splash Pad theme park during a heatwave that reached 47C.
The boys' mother Shaunna Broadway (26) said she found her children in agony when she picked them up.
She claimed on a radio programme that the daycare centre staff had run out of suncream, so had told the boys to wear T-shirts but had failed to enforce this. Three days after the trip, she took her sons to Tulsa Hospital with blisters and intensified burns.
The children were airlifted to a hospital in Galveston, Texas, for treatment, where they will have to stay for at least five days due to the severity of their burns.
