Crowds line the streets for funeral of US shooting victim Walter Scott
The funeral is taking place today of black driver Walter Scott, who was fatally shot by a North Charleston police officer after fleeing when he was pulled over for a broken brake light.
Crowds lined the streets as two policemen on motorcycles drove ahead of the hearse as it arrived for the service in Summerville, South Carolina.
Police initially said Mr Scott was shot on April 4 during a tussle over police officer Michael Slager's department-issued Taser. But witness video surfaced later, showing Mr Scott being shot eight times as he ran away.
The officer has been charged with murder.
The incident sparked outrage as another instance of a white law enforcement officer fatally shooting an unarmed black man under questionable circumstances.
