Chile miner Yonni Barrios 'had second mistress'
A Chilean miner whose extramarital affair was disclosed while he was trapped underground had a second mistress, the first has said.
Yonni Barrios, 50, was found to have been unfaithful to his wife, Marta Salinas, when his mistress, Susana Valenzuela, came forward during his 69-day ordeal.
Mr Barrios was met by Miss Valenzuela when he emerged from the mine underneath the Atacama Desert last week. His wife stayed away.
Miss Valenzuela said on Tuesday that she has had to fight off advances from a 25-year-old woman who was also romanced by Mr Barrios.
She told La FM, a Colombian radio station, that she had barred the younger woman from entering the hospital where Mr Barrios received treatment after his escape from the mine.
"He is my Yonni Barrios – mine and no one else's," Valenzuela is reported to have told the station.
Mr Barrios has been married to Marta Salinas for 28 years, but has said that Miss Valenzuela provided the inspiration he needed to survive while trapped underground.
"During various moments I lost hope and a person needs an incentive to live," he said. "She was my incentive."
Earlier it emerged that Mr Barrios had been offered $100,000 (€72,000) to become the face of a controversial dating website.
The offer came from AshleyMadison.com, an online service for married people looking to have affairs.
