A five-year-old child's Buzz Lightyear toy was confiscated and thrown away by airport security staff as it looked 'too much like a gun'.
The incident happened at Fort Lauderdale International Airport when Transportation Security Administration deemed Levi Zilka's Buzz Lightyear toy a realistic replica of a firearm and ended up throwing the toy away, local agency WWMT reported.
The youngster's dad David told the station that his son had "tears streaming down his face" upon realizing the security agents weren't returning the toy.
"We understand that things are scary out there right now but taking a toy from a 5-year-old doesn't enhance national security," Zilka told the station.
"It was all I could do not to break down with him in that moment."
