Blogger reads out hateful emails after banning Donald Trump from conference
A conservative political blogger angered Donald Trump fans when he told the increasingly controversial GOP presidential hopeful on Friday not to show up for the event.
Erick Erickson, founder of the Red State blog, said he believed a remark Trump made about Fox News journalist Megyn Kelly, regarding the tough questions she was asking during the debate, went too far over the line.
“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her — wherever,” Trump said, widely interpreted to be a reference to a menstrual cycle.
The drama escalated further on Saturday as Trump's campaign manager Roger Stone said he quit the campaign, while Trump said he fired Stone.
Erickson used the event to read aloud some of the hate mail he received, which you can see in the video.
Some emailers thought Erickson was too sensitive, including a man named Mark, who wrote: “I don’t care whether Mr. Trump hurts people’s feelings. … People are tired of pencil-headed pucks like you who cry and stamp their feet when they disagree with someone’s comments.”
Others criticized Fox News debate moderator Megyn Kelly, the target of Trump’s ire, who wrote: “She thinks she is America’s TV darling. She should be fired.”
