Captors want body ransom
The kidnappers of a disabled French woman who died after being taken from her home in Kenya are demanding a ransom for the return of her body, it emerged yesterday.
Marie Dedieu (66) was kidnapped on October 1 and taken to Somalia. Wheelchair-bound and in a terminal phase of cancer, she died in the hands of her captors.
Gerard Longuet, the French defence minister, said their demands "could not be more despicable." (© Daily Telegraph, London)
