At least 14 people were killed as a bus caught fire following a collision with a truck that was being towed, and six other people have died in separate road accidents elsewhere across Russia.

The bus crash took place early on Sunday in the central Tatarstan Republic. Footage from the scene shows the burnt-out shell of the bus, and investigators say a criminal case has been opened.

Meanwhile, four other people died early on Sunday when a car hit a tree near the city of Nizhny Novgorod, east of Moscow, and two teenagers were killed late on Saturday when a truck ploughed into a bus stop in the western city of Bryansk.
