Billionaire fashion designer Tory Burch cites her adaptive business nature as one of the reasons for her success.
So adaptive in fact, that she's decided to bend her fashion rules and turn her money-making hand to beauty.
Her new, considered collection launches in January and comes with the signature Hamptons-meets-Manhattan appeal you'd expect. And of course her golden T-medallion logo upon each item.
With a perfume at the helm, a make-up collection and a bath and body range, Burch hasn't left room for wanting in her new debut beauty range. But cosmetic capital reasons aside, the designer obviously has a personal beauty flare.
"It's similar to the clothes and accessories we design," Burch says of her new scent, describing the mix of grapefruit, mandarin, bergamot, neroli, cassis and vetiver (the latter of which was her father Buddy Robinson's favourite note) as, "sophisticated but down-to-earth," - proving that her 'preppy-boho' design DNA has made it through to beauty.
The make-up collection, which includes a lip and cheek tint, nude lipstick, bronzer blush and brush is based on something she'd use herself, too. "I think every woman wants a beauty routine that's easy and makes her feel great," says the 47-year-old designer.
And as luxe as it looks, the blush-coloured collection body cream, lotion, and gel (bursting by the way with a heady mix of tuberose and jasmine sambac) are everyday essentials too. Hear that? Essential.
