The Hotlist 2013

|

Angela Scanlon
A move to the UK has certainly paid off for the 28-year-old Irish stylist who is now being hailed as the new Alexa Chung and who has already caught the attention of style bible Vogue.
Max Irons
Sinead Cusack and Jeremy Irons' son is a Burberry model but 2013 will really be his break through year when he stars in the new Stephanie Meyers film, The Host. You can call him the new R-Patz.
Lincoln
The powerful combination of Steven Spielberg directing and Daniel Day-Lewis in the title role of Honest Abe promises to be powerful stuff. Out end of January.

Violet
It can only help that the photogenic Pixie Geldof fronts this London-based band and that Radio1 DJ Nick Grimshaw is a fan. But connections aside Violet is actually very listenable, if you're into your indie.
The return of Game of Thrones
It's not going to mean much to you if you're not already a fan of the HBO hit series. But if you are, April can't come quickly enough. Will Jaime get to King's Landing in one piece? What will happen to Robb Stark? All will be revealed.
U2
Cara Delevingne
She's cute, she's quirky, she adores onesies and she has heaps of personality. It's not often a model like this comes along which is why everyone is quite rightly fascinated by the 20-year-old.
JW Anderson
Baby watch
It's going to be an embarrassment of riches when it comes to celeb babies in 2013. There's the proper royal one of course, as well as the rap/reality TV royal infant, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's baby.
AnnaSophia Robb
For those who still yearn after Sex and the City, the good news is that the prequel, The Carrie Diaries, is out this year. Expect fabulous clothes and a star turn from AnnaSophia as Carrie.
Paris Jackson
She's only 14 years old but already she has a million followers on Twitter and appears to be a nice, grounded girl. One to watch.
Philip Treacy by Kevin Davies
This sumptously photographed book pays tribute to the Galway miliner's incredible talent. One for fashionistas to savour, it's out in March.
Kodaline
Great things are expected from this Dublin foursome who released their debut EP in September. Their single All I Want was featured on Grey's Anatomy and if the Snow Patrol precedent is anything to go by, world domination can only be next.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
Jennifer Lawrence is one of Hollywood's hottest properties right now and her turn as Katniss Everdeen in the second of the trilogy based on Suzanne Collins should be great - although you'll have to wait until November to see it.
Allison Williams
While Lena Dunham is the real stars of HBO hit Girls, Allison still manages to steal several scenes from her as Lena's character's best friend, Marnie. She's also proving herself to be an amazing red carpet dresser.
The Marker Hotel
The latest addition to Dublin's hotel scene is the Marker, set to open in April in Grand Canal Square. Expect high end design and fabulous cocktails.
Mad Men
The penultimate series starts in spring on Sky Atlantic but we know next to nothing about what's happening. It can't come soon enough.
Mr Selfridge
Its airing date is still TBC but Jeremy Piven stars in the ITV drama as the American tycoon behind the famous London store.
The famous Ron Burgundy is set to come to Dublin.
Rebel Wilson
The Australian actress was hilarious in Bridesmaids. Catch her next alongside Mark Wahlberg in the film Pain & Gain.
Deception
The new TV3 six-part drama starring Leigh Arnold and Conor Mullen promises intrigue, murder and home reposessions. We love already.
Sky Ferreira has the looks, the great name and the talent
The Hangover 3
There were murmurings that the Hangover 2 wasn't as funny as the original but we're prepared to give the third film, which opens in May, the benefit of the doubt.
Patrick Schwarzenegger
Orange
Fashion comes over all citrussy this year and shades of tangerine and clementine ruled the catwalks. And it doesn't get much better than Blake Lively in this leather Isabel Marant dress.
