Rita Ora's sweet smell of success for DKNY
Rita Ora's DKNY takeover is complete.
In July news broke that she had nabbed the resort campaign for 2014, taking the title from good friend and 'wifey' Cara Delevingne, and now the songstress has taken on the role as the face of the fragrance, too.
WWD spread rumours yesterday that the British singer had been tapped by DKNY fragrances. Later that evening Ora was papped in Time Square, on a shoot, holding a perfume bottle. Coincidence? We think not.
The DKNY fragrance business, which is licensed out to Aramis and Designer Fragrances (part of Estée Lauder Companies), launched in 2000 and has been a big market player ever since. Launching limited collections year on year, including the hugely popular Be Delicious range, this is a big role in beauty for Ora.
Having secured a film role (as Mia Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey); a fashion campaign for DKNY; a design deal with adidas; a make-up line with Rimmel and now this fragrance advert, we're OK with the fact you may not have time to make records anymore Rita. No really.
