THE festive season has started and so have the annual charity Christmas lunches.
Hoping for a final boost in funds before they ring in the New Year, the Marie Keating Foundation hosted a three-course meal with all the trimmings at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin.
Over 220 turned out in their seasonal sparkle for the occasion and among the guests were Morah Ryan and singer Bressie.
It was both a day of work and pleasure for ‘The Voice of Ireland’ coach, who attended with a group of friends, but was also there in an official capacity.
“My mum Mandy and I are directors of Lark, a cancer charity in the Midlands. We’re the only holistic based treatment centre in the country, so we have strong links to the Marie Keating Foundation,” he said.
“I’m delighted to come along and supported the cause, it’s a very worthy one.”
Linda Keating, Fundraising Director of the Marie Keating Foundation, told the Irish Independent that they hope to raise €15,000 from the event, with all funds going towards the vital services they provide families with members fighting the disease.
