MODEL Abbey Harris is ditching those text books and study time tables and heading over to the bright lights of London.
The Leaving Certificate student has dropped out of school so she can immerse herself in the glitzy world of modelling.
"I was in sixth year in King's Hospital and had to give up either school or modelling," Abbey (17) told the Diary. "I couldn't keep doing both so I decided to go for modelling. I can go back to school whenever. I'm really excited about living in London -- it's a great city."
And Abbey, who is the face (and hair) of Peter Mark's current ad campaign, has already caught the eye of several high-profile London agencies.
"I went over last week to meet with several of the agents and have a good few offers on the table. Now I'm just deciding who to sign with," she said.
And Abbey said her parents have been super supportive about her decision to quit school.
"They've been great. I think they know it's a once in a lifetime opportunity," she said.
"I'm just really looking forward to it. It'll be my first time living away from home."
Abbey will share an apartment with an assortment of waif-like models in central London. "It's a model apartment so you'll be with other girls doing the same sort of work. I love doing shows and being in front of the camera -- you really become a different person," she explained.
The model is just one of the new faces on Assets' books. Niall Horan's ex -- Zoe Whelan has also signed with them.
Zoe was thrust into the limelight when she arrived at Greg Horan's wedding earlier this year. The Coolock native graced magazine covers, was bombarded with interview requests and living every teenagers dream.
But alas and alack, Niall and Zoe's love was not meant to be. It seems the 1D star has moved onwards and upwards in the dating world -- from Irish photocall model to Victoria Secret's model.
Pop affairs and heartbreak to one side, Monkstown native Sophie Shannon (20) is another new member of the Assets family.
The bubbly blonde is currently studying costume design in NCAD and fell into modelling.
"I've always had an interest in fashion," she told the Diary.
"That's why I'm studying it in college. A few people had said I should try modelling so I went along to the Assets open day and got signed.
"I had a preconception that the modelling world could be quite bitchy but everyone is just great craic. I'm loving it. And the guys at Assets are great."
