Chris O'Dowd was "so old" when he had his first kiss.
The actor stars in Moone Boy, a TV comedy about a young boy who deals with growing up in a small Irish town by relying on his invisible friend, who is played by Chris.
In the second series young actor David Rawle, who plays lead character Martin Moone, has his first kiss.
Chris writes the show with Nick Vincent Murphy and says they "ploughed" his own romantic history for inspiration.
"Yes. I think plough is the right verb," he deadpanned to British magazine Star.
"God, it was like digging up sh*t! I was so old when I had my first kiss. Like 15, maybe 16."
These days Chris, 34, is happily married to Dawn Porter, who he wed in 2012.
However, kissing is still a touchy subject when it comes to raunchy movie scenes.
"I say nothing. If I have to kiss a girl in a film, Dawn doesn't know that it's happening until she sees the film," the Bridesmaids star previously admitted.
Chris joked that his young Moone Boy co-star David always manages to "steal" scenes.
The idea to have an imaginary friend in the show developed naturally.
"I'm not sure our initial idea was to have an imaginary friend," he mused.
"We knew we wanted to do something about me growing up. We were looking at ways to put a bit of magic into it and I liked the idea of playing someone who comes in and out of the show. All that just came together, although I can't remember when we said he'd be an imaginary friend. But I'm glad that we did!"
