Like Mother, Like Daughter
Christie Brinkley and her daughter have been signed to IMG Models.
The 59-year-old star and her 15-year-old daughter Sailor Brinkley-Cook have secured exclusive global representation for modelling, marketing and commercial endorsements.
Christie already has a great reputation in the fashion world having appeared on over 500 magazine covers, including Vogue and Esquire. She also previously landed the role of the face of make-up giant CoverGirl among other ventures.
Sailor developed a taste for modelling after appearing in retailer Claire's Accessories Back to School campaign featuring British pop band One Direction.
IMG Models' Ivan Bart is pleased to have the duo on board and has big hopes for the teenager.
"Christie's appeal is timeless; she is a legend in the business and continues to successfully expand her fashion presence and impact as a humanitarian, health and fitness advocate," he told WWD. "Sailor is also a classic beauty, who I'm confident will have many opportunities to explore in the world of modelling and beyond."
Christie made an appearance on the Today Show last month and looked as youthful as ever wearing a low-cut white dress.
She spoke about the release of the book Sports Illustrated Swimsuit: 50 Years of Beautiful and recalled her debut appearance on the cover of the magazine in 1975.
"When I did my first issue... I did a picture sort of from the side in a thong and it was so racy at the time," she laughed on the show. "The magazine came out in America and everybody started calling me in Paris and going, 'Oh my gosh, everybody's talking about you. You're in a magazine, you're practically naked!'"
