Going on appearances, Laura Whitmore has a pretty fabulous life.

Name any big event you care to think of in the last while, and she’s been there on the red carpet.  But not in a ‘she’d turn up for the opening of an envelope’/I’m a TOWIE cast member' type way.  No, the kind of kind of events that Laura tends to go to are very, very cool and as often as  not, she’s there in a professional capacity, as she was at the BAFTAs, where she hosted a 360° red carpet show.

In the last ten days, she attended the following: the screening of celeb photographer Rankin’s film Collabor8te; the Elle Style Awards; a Diet Coke private party, an Asprey pre-BAFTA bash; an Esquire pre-BAFTA party on Wednesday night;  the BAFTAs themselves of course as well as a Johnnie Walker blue label event at Annabel’s nightclub in London where she was hanging out with supermodel David Gandy.

Her impeccable taste when it comes to fashion has also been noted by observers. She never puts a style foot wrong and is papped in one fabulous outfit after the next, even she’s off duty. She practically stole the show at the BAFAs in her black jumpsuit, stealing the thunder from the likes of Marion Cotillard and Ann Hathaway.

She is very much the newest, coolest It girl.

Two things we have concluded about all of Laura’s red carpet appearances. Firstly, she may need a PA to keep on top of her busy life. And secondly, even listing the events she’s been to over the last while is making us fatigued, so we can’t imagine how gruelling it must be actually attending them.

Much as you think you’d like to party with the stars and hit up the red carpet with perfect make-up and wearing a designer frock, would you be up for doing it constantly? What if you were having a fat day (not that Laura would ever have those)?  What if you’d come out in a rash of spots? What if you’d had a massive row with your boyfriend and felt like crying but still had to smile for the cameras? And what if you just felt like staying in and watching Eastenders?

That’s why we’re perfectly happy to look at Laura dazzle on the red carpet and live vicariously through her hectic social diary. Rather her than lazy and generally ungroomed us. We're only a teeny tiny bit jealous.
