As awards season reaches fever pitch, some of Ireland’s best known faces painted Tinseltown green
The red carpet turned green last night for two separate events honouring Irish talent in Hollywood.
The annual Oscar Wilde pre-Oscars party in Santa Monica was filled with typical talent, as was the opening of the Cinemagic Festival opening.
TV presenter turned actress Caroline Morahan was stunning as usual in her digital print dress, posing alongside Samantha Mumba at the exclusive Cinemagic event, alongside actor Gavin O'Fearraigh.
Meanwhile, Tinseltown’s Irish supporters stepped out in their droves for the Oscar Wilde party, held at JJ Abrams’ production house, Bad Robot. Stars we spotted include Colin Farrell, who was sporting a very unique hairstyle with the sides of his head shaved for his role in A Winter’s Tale; director Jim Sheridan, American-Irish actor Peter Gallagher, Steven Spielberg and of course, Mr Abrams.
The invite-only party takes place annually just days ahead of the prestigious Oscar ceremony on Sunday. Hell on Wheels star Dominique McElligott and Terra Nova’s Jason O’Mara, all stepped out to support the homegrown industry in Hollywood.
A host of up-and-coming musical talent performed at the bash, including Declan O’Rourke, Julie Feeney and The Heathers, who were out to get noticed by industry bigwigs and the drinks were flowing all night.
Kerryman Michael Fassbender was noticeably absent, but is expected to attend this Sunday’s Academy Awards solo after he recently revealed he is now single.
