WHEN it comes to looking good, Foxy Lady and model Aoife Cogan says no one can beat psychedelic rocker Jimi Hendrix.
Aoife (30) cites Jimi as her ultimate style icon and says she cannot get enough of velvet flares, headbands or fringed suede jackets.
"I'd say one of my biggest style inspirations is Jimi Hendrix. Definitely, " she told the Herald.
"I think his stage outfits are amazing and love all the clothes from that era."
In fact, artist Aoife is such a fan of the Voodoo Chile singer she has a painting of him in her house. "I think he had a great face," she said. "He's a great person to paint. I only have one of my own paintings in my house and it's of Jimi Hendrix."
The wife of rugby player Gordan D'Arcy is known for her eclectic and boho sense of style. The chatty painter rarely follows fashion trends. She said: "My style is a bit of a mish-mash of everything. I definitely don't follow trends -- I know what suits me. Tight dresses like that just aren't really my thing.
"I'm an artist so I like being creative with my clothes -- it's an expression of who you are."
Aoife married Gordan in Monaghan in July 2012. The couple are loving married life and Aoife says their 55kg Bernese Mountain dog Wilson is the apple of their eye.
"He's a gentle giant," she said. "My two nephews love him. Gordan and I are completely obsessed with him. He's the love of our life."
Aoife was talking at the launch of Dental Care Month -- offering pooches around the country free dental checks for the month of November.
"It's the second time he's done a shoot so he's a bit of a pro at this stage. And this time, it's for a good cause so he's a do-gooder and a bit of a missionary dog," she laughed.
