From plain-faced to pop star: Katy Perry shows what it takes to look picture perfect for her first Vogue cover
Three years after 'those' pictures of her without makeup posted by ex-husband Russell Brand, the singer shows the difference cosmetics can make.
Katy Perry has revealed just what it takes to look picture perfect for a Vogue cover shoot. The I Kissed a Girl singer spoke to the magazine's online video source, Vogue Diaries, about her beauty evolution and allowed the cameras to see her looking fresh faced to sultry model.
In a move sure to give women throughout the world an ego boost, we see that Katy Perry really doesn't wake up looking stage-ready, and in fact, a lot goes into her overall image behind-the-scenes.
"My skin used to be a lot worse than it is, so we would do a lot more coverage because I was insecure about my skin," she explained as to why she previously wore "more dramatic makeup" on the red carpet in the past. "And you know when you're insecure about your skin, you just do a lot more."
"I think we're coming into a more age-appropriate feel of experimenting," she added. "I love a good paint. I have alright lips and alright cheekbones, but they're no show-offs. If I can get my eyes and brows right, that really sets off the whole face."
