Lena Dunham is upset that women attack each other over "good and bad feminism".
The Girls star took to her Twitter account to vent her anger over the lack of solidarity between females. She referenced the R. Kelly "convo", referring to allegations made about the singer's relationships with young girls.
"The debate about good and bad feminism makes me want to take a nap for a year. Nothing pains me more than when something like the R. Kelly convo comes to light and women turn on each other.
"I never want to be didactic on twitter. I want to recognize how freaking complex it is to be female right now, aka VERY (sic)," fumed Lena to her 1.2 million followers.
R. Kelly, 46, has been marred by controversy during his career, with allegations of relationships with young girls. He wed Aaliyah when she was just 15 and in 2008 was found not guilty of child pornography charges.
Fans quickly reassured Lena that being a woman gets easier, and showed their support by retweeting her posts.
The updates then took a light hearted turn, when the 27-year-old actress spoke about her Christmas wrapping.
"Believe me, I'd like to tweet about something besides all of this too. Like all the wrapping paper I bought today and the ADHESIVE CHRISTMAS DOODADS for the tops of boxes (sic)," she tweeted.
Hit series Girls returns next year for a hotly-anticipated third season. Lena has picked up two Golden Globe Awards for the show; Best Television Series and Best Performance by an Actress.
