NOW there are sexy smalls for every shape. Arnotts has launched its Autumn/Winter 2013 Lingerie collections at the Vintage Cocktail Club, Temple Bar in Dublin with a firm eye on different body shapes.
Lingerie ads have fed us a diet of statuesque, skinny woman with standard, perfect figures. But in reality, women always have areas they want to play up or play down, and statistics show that eight out of ten women are wearing the wrong-size bra.
Lena Zellerhoff has a plus-size figure, so she was dressed in lingerie designed for the larger cup size and high-waisted briefs that were both flattering and offered shape wear.
And Dublin model Holly Carpenter showcased a lace waspie "waist cincher" which accentuated her enviable curves.
"We are seeing the sheer look everywhere this season, from mesh panels to fine tulle . . . sheer pieces come to the fore in a big way," said Emily O'Byrnes, Arnotts' lingerie buyer.
"We have noticed a big increase in women coming into the store to be fitted correctly," added Emily.
