The seven-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes has reportedly signed an almost €2 million deal to design her own clothing line.
According to The Sun, the seven-year-old daughter of Hollywood actors Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will put her name to a fashion line called 'Suri'.
A department store in New York, where Suri resides with her mother, will stock the line initially. If it is successful, it will be rolled out across stores in North America.
Holmes, who split with Cruise last year, and her stylist Jeanne Yang are thought to be on board. The two already have their own high-end fashion label, Holmes & Yang.
A source said of Suri: "This is a really nice hobby for her, its certainly not going to take over her life. Most girls dream of being able to make their own clothes, this just means her drawings will now become a reality."
Suri is only seven but she is incredibly interested in clothes,” a source told the newspaper. “She has been through a very difficult year and adapted amazingly to her new life in New York, including the upheaval of starting normal school.”
Apparently, the initial idea was for Suri to have her own blog but the concept evolved.
After divorcing Tom last summer, it was reported that Katie was eager to give Suri, who has a reported $3 million wardrobe, a more normal life.
"All that inappropriate dress-up and make-up was down to Tom," a source told Vogue at the time. "Katie's keyword now when it comes to Suri is 'normal'. Tom loved to spoil Suri and indulge her, but Katie has other ideas."
